Trying it on your own
Even though it is posible to learn almost anything by oneself, this implies some factors limiting the progression and can also mean a bigger risk. It is also the best way to adquire some bad habits that later on will be more difficult to correct, as somebody learning on his own does not have access to see how the correct actions are to be made.
Or one can carryout some pilot actions without knowing why and how one does them, whereas learning with an expirienced instructor can teach us countless details, tricks and techniques.
Consequently, learning powered paragliding by oneself is an option that must be discarded, specially at the beginning of the learning process, just when all those actions, have to be understood, interpreted, repeated and assimilated in the best possible condition, all this in order to etablish some automatic reactions, almost as if they were reflexes.
The aim is always to transformthe beginner into autonomous pilot, responsible and conscius of his limitations and those of his aircraft.



A structure well adapted to taeching
Learning in a school also haw the advantage of having the proper gear. Buying an old and cheap sail to practice inflation on the back yard of the house, hoping to learn in such a way the necesary technique is by no means the proper way to do this.
